I loved The Hurt Locker, totally deserved the win.
Thought that District 9 was one of the few unique films this year, got robbed last night.
Thought Avatar was enjoyable but overated.
Inglorious Basterds was ok, but disapointing for a Tarantino film.
Thought that The Blindside was offensive.
Thought Up was amazing, both incredibly funny and emotional.
The Blindside was offensive because they didn't even focus on Michael Oher. It just focused on a white, rich american family who takes in an african american.

I have just realized that i have been being slowly poisoned for 5 years!
The story began in 2005 when i moved in to my current residence. I signed my tenancy on 7/7/05, on 25/10/05 i reported a horid smell in the kitchen coming from under the boiler.
The housing association sent out a contractor....he determined that the horrid smell was coming from the old drain pipe from the boiler. This pipe was poking up through the worktop...the smell was coming from there.
He got some electrical tape and taped up over the pipe.
Nothing further was logged as the contractor obviously did not think it was a problem.
I have suffered from severe nausea since i moved into the property. My medical history clearly show i was fine up until the end of 2005...and ill up until dec 2009.
My doctor has been stumped at why no matter what " Anti depressant " she puts me on i continue to feel sick. I have been on 20+ anti depressants, beta blockers, sleeping tablets, anti sickness tablets, IBS tablets...none helped the nausea.
25th Feb 2010 my kitchen was torn out ready for a new one....the landlord also paid for a new combi boiler.
After the boiler was fitted the fitter asked me if i had smelt gas....i told him that i hadnt but there was a funny smell i couldnt identify. He then went on to tell me that he had to replace a section of pipe as it had a pin hole leak in it. I have pictures of the old pipe...before it was replaced and the " section " that was replaced due to the leak.
The pipe was located behind a kitchen cabinet....none of the cabinets had backs.
I have secured a lot of information regarding natural gas poisoning....i have contacted the manufacturer of the odour as well as NGRID.
I have print outs from the Hazardous Substances Database which i am going to show to my doctor tomorrow.
There is clearly a link between the time i moved to the property...the gas leak found and my 5 years of untreatable nausea.
Natural gas poisoning causes a lot of the symptoms i have. I have called an ambulance on several occasions due to what felt like heart attacks...im 30 btw. This is all documented.
As are all the medications i have been prescribed and the tests carried out. At the beginning of my sickness i had an Endoscopy....they thought it was bacteria to begin with but then slowly drew to the conclusion it was infact anxiety.
This seemed like a plausible answer to my nausea, shaking, chest cramps, insomnia, and agoraphobia. I had split up from my girlfriend due to my sickness....i was always so nauseas i could never go out in the final 2 years of our relationship....i was with her for 7 years! and the final 2 i was so ill she decided she could no longer cope with it.
Since 2005 i have been able to work maybe 2 years because i have always felt so ill....mainly in the morning.
Everything points to the gas being the root of the problem.....please read up on natural gas poisoning before claiming its not toxic....or talking about CO2 poisoning....ITS NOT THE SAME.

I have spent the last week reading up on each chemical in the gas before it is burnt....as it is in the pipes before combustion.
The gas BEFORE combustion contains a whole bunch of nastyness......the gas in the pipes are made up of :

90% Methane
5% Ethane
3% Propane
2% Other components ( radon, benzene, and odourants )

Like i say i have studied hard on this subject, i do not expect my doctor to accept that they were wrong so i have printed off a lot of data to show them. I have also requested my medical history from 2005 - 2009. This shows a clear correlation.

My landlord is responsible....they send in a contractor to maintain the boiler but they are useless....and have clearly failed to spot the leak. I have made numerous complaints about this company over the past 5 years.

The windows are always on vent in my place due to the " horrid " smell i reported back in 2005. I also smoke.

What should i do now....???? the evidence is clearly piling up against my landlord.
I have taken fabric samples of furniture and sealed them in air tight jars. Blood tests can reveal the poisoning....its shown in the blood count....i have had maybe 40 blood tests in the past 5 years.

I was earning £35k a year prior to my illness.

I intend on suing my landlord....you may say that its for the money and yea it is!! My life has been misery for 5 years....i want to live it to the max now im free of my nausea!!!

I might also point out that natural gas also has a more sinister side in that it can cause infertility and cancer in the bones ( leukaemia ) so i will be requesting tests for these also.

I dont want to use a no win no fee lawyer....but have no idea what do do from here really?
I want to sue for loss of earnings, pain and suffering and damages.
I would imagine if successful this could be potentially worth £200k +, so i do not want to use a crappy lawyer with no knowledge or an ambulance chaser.

I met someone on-line from a dating site who states he lives in Houston Texas. Trust me I thought that he was a nice guy when we first started communicating and also a Christian guy. We exchange phone numbers and pictures. We started talking frequently with each other. He went to do business overseas in Africa because he told me that he worked for HP and he bought computers wholesale from HP and he was selling them in the market in Africa. He also stated that he was going to see his family. I wanted to be in a trusting relationship with him and I thought that he was a person who I could trust. He said he had not seen his family in five years and he would only be in Africa for a short time do his business and return to the states. So I had a soft spot for him because he had not seen his mother in five years and thought that he was legitimate. The next thing i know he started calling me and texting me to send him money. It started off him asking me for 200 dollars for his nephew who was in college who needed to pay a fee. I told him that I did not have 200 dollars to send. He started to make me feel guilty that he needed my help and that I was making him look dishonored by his family. So I sent 50 dollars western union which cost 60.00. He told me that he was going to pay me back and that we were going to be in a long term relationship and to get married in the future. Then he told me that he needed 950 dollars to clear his computer goods with customs that he shipped over there. I was concerned about what he was doing over there and I told him that I did not have 950 dollars to send him. I was also concerned that what he was doing was legal and I told him that I hope he was not doing anything illegal because i did not want to get involved with anything illegal. He assured me that what he was doing illegal and that he was going to pay it back to make a long story short I ended up sending him 500 dollars which i had to borrow, 200 dollars and another 400 dollars. Now he is acting funny and do not want to talk to me like he did before. He stated he wanted to come and live with me when he return to the states and now i think that it is all a scam. I want to know what are my options that i have. I thought that we were going to be a couple and that he was going to follow through.

Clarification of some misconceptions about China?

I am a chinese, I was born in China, raised in China and moved to Canada five years ago. Now I have heard a lot of things online, some funny, some provocative but what I read recently about China is so dumb and ridiculous I am not sure why people believe those. Like:

1.They have death vans all over China and those why does something wrong, death van will come and kill you.
(Now how does that work? So is the death van suppose like police but only kill? Then what are the police for? Further more is this really possible? Unlike US or Canada, Chinese population are not focused in cities. Villages and country sides are really hard to drive on and you can see a van from miles off... Now I won't say if this is possible or not, you tell me if you think it makes sense to have death vans in China :P)

2.After the Olympic game they killed all Christians who went and see the game. (Wow... I never believe people actually think it makes sense... I mean they have Churches in China. I know because I saw :P Plus what purpose does killing Christians who went to Olympic game serve? To loot their money!? Honestly as a government body, secret killing maybe possible, I don't know, but I know if it was me who runs it, I don't kill random people whom the world thought I hate. I kill people who present themselves to be dangerous or harmful toward the government. Now you tell me does Christians fit that category? Are Christians who went to the Olympic game harmful or dangerous toward the Chinese government? I can't think a reason they are. And I can't think of a reason why chinese government would kill them, unless you are base your assumption on that they are just plain evil, and they hate them, so they killed them. Then I say you are being prejudice, no man who committed a crime who is sane do it because he/she is evil. They do it out of impulse and they regret it afterwards. Same applies for government.)

3.They killed millions innocent people in the Tianmen square. (Well, I wasn't born then so I can't stand for what I say must be true. I think Chinese government truly did wrong then, so many student killed. It is really their fault. But the current governing body is not made by the same people then, Chinese who were thought backward and poor fifty years ago are now rich and strong, and we didn't do it by killing or making war. Now you might say the sin of father is carried by son. Sure, in that case I guess US should pay for their raid of Beijing during Qing Dynasty. They raped chinese women and stole a lot of artifacts that were national treasures. Not to mention burned YuanMingYuan, the most treasured chinese royal garden to the ground. If I remember, the US government is still the same line descendant from then. Then should they pay for their crime? Maybe they should, maybe they shouldn't, but in the principle of thing, they are not paying for it, so they have no right to point finger at chinese government. Governments make mistakes just like people do, and I think no man should pay for a crime his father committed. Because he is not just his father's son, but also his own person.)

4.Free Tibet!!! (I don't know how the people in US think, but to us chinese, Tibet has been a part of China since PRC was formed. So no matter what they say, to me, and to most Chinese people, taking Tibet away is breaking away a piece of China. Sure you say there is no human right and they shouldn't restrict Tibetans from rioting and stuff. Well, in truth, to a Chinese, we are just trying to keep China from breaking apart. Same thing can be say about Texas and US or Quebec with Canada. They are not letting them form their own country because they are just trying to keep their country from falling apart too, You say but they care about human rights and don't kill people. Well, this is unconfirmed, but I hear those killing are just media trying to get big news. Pictures are all edited to make Chinese government looks bad. In fact you can find those videos on Youtube, about how they cut the picture and use Nepal police to fake chinese police hitting Tibetans. Tibetans are being really aggressive in their protest. And I think Chinese government really did a good job keep the order and keep away from harming people.

Wow, that's a handful. If you have things you think I should know about China and I don't, please tell me. If you make sense I will agree. But if it doesn't, please be patient and hear me out, I think I might change your mind :D

We listened to the students speak about their travels to different countries. We looked at pictures from different countries. We watched a spanish classe's "foreign language week" video. It was really funny!

Two more students came in to tell us about their travels to France. They showed us many pictures of their trip and the exchange students that came to the US. The spanish class sang two songs in spanish. Then, we watched a video from the Latin Class. We watched our video from our class. It was very embarassing but funny to watch. Foreign Language week was fun!


Ive translated them as best as i could but i DO NOT want to screw it up and have it not be understandable. I dont want the french (whom i will be speaking to) to not understand what im saying. THANKS!

Have you ever like found a bunch of old information (anything. pictures, school work, essays, internet posts, etc.) that could give you an idea of what you were like a long time ago and ended up thinking "...damn... I was a DUMBASS." That's what just happened to me. I've been reading some of my original questions on this profile and my original profile and all I've had to say was "holy crap I failed back then." Feel free to look at my old questions. Just don't laugh =\ Lol I have some wack verses from when I just started keystyling and a bunch of other stuff. I fear for my sons Health at his fathers house?

My son is 18 months old and has started loosing weight while at his fathers house, My son also has asthma and has to be on special steroids that he gets through his nebulizer, i send the medication along with the nebulizer to his fathers house with him and when i pick him up he always sounds raspy and seems to take longer deeper breaths as if he is having trouble breathing. when i look in the pocket in the nebulizer all of his medication is still there. the doctor and me are concerned about his weight loss. whenever he is home with me i cant get him to stop eating, the first thing he does when he wakes up is eat.
i am also sort of angry at the fact that we have 50/50 custody but i have my son every weekend while he makes up excuses to drop him off early. the girl he is with has attempted to stab someone during a drug deal, when she told me about it she was laughing like it was some kind of joke that was only funny to her. She is also on social security for mental reasons, she had said once she was faking it so she could get money from social security, but when i read up on the court papers it has been stated that someone receiving money from social security cannot watch a child. 3 times that his father has had him he brought him to the hospital for Dehydration, and when it comes to his doctor appointments i had to call the clinic myself just to find out what was wrong with my son and to set it up so only i could set up his appointments because his father wouldn't tell me when the appointments were or even tell me what was wrong with him, he would tell me the total opposite of what the doctor had said to him. He has my son calling his girlfriend mother and has him calling me by my name. i ask him to stop and he acts like he doesn't know what i am talking about then yells at me for not following his schedule for when he has my son. He wasn't like this before his girlfriend was in the picture, before her he was actually nice to me and did things the way i had been doing them, my son wasn't as sick as he gets now while at his fathers house.

Hi. I am 20 and in college. I am a fairly reserved/shy/focused student, who does not party much.

Last night some friends in the dorm had a "high school night" themed party and played strip poker. That is way out of my comfort zone, and I wasn't all gung ho, but they convinced me that the rules were set up where you don't really end up losing that much clothing, that it was all about being funny/fun. I read the rules they had come up with, and it did seem like you had to lose alot of chips before each lost item etc. I had had a few drinks, decided I wanted to, for once, be game, and figured worst case scenario someone catches a peak of me in my bra. Live a little and enjoy college etc.

What I didn't take into account is the fact that I had never even played POKER before....plus, since I don't drink often, I was more drunk than I realized. I lost, and I lost hard. I basically lost all my clothes. At several points I thought abotu stopping, but I was raised with the value that you think about things ahead of time (includig possible consequences) and you don't back out half way through. I was humiliated and NOT having a good time, but I kept playing because I didn't want to be the girl that chickened out and quit just because she was losing.

It was an embarrasing night, but I lived.....and even if i felt bad about my decision making (agreeing to play) I felt good about not being the type to back out......then this morning I found out one girl who was at the party thought it was SO funny that I lost so many clothes that she posted some pictures she apparently took of me (I have no memory of that) on facebook. Thank goodness I am covering myself with my hands in all of the pictures, but still......now people are calling me slutty, and crazy, and why would i go through with that etc....

I don't know what to do. This is so unlike my personality, and now I'm scared it will follow me for a LONG time
